Hello all,

We are formally transferring the ComfyUI repository to the @Comfy-Org organization to advance the project's expansion and enhance our team workflows. This move is aimed at setting expectations, ensuring transparency, and facilitating a smooth experience for users and contributors.

What are the implications for you?

  • Automatic Redirection: Rest easy knowing GitHub will handle redirecting all existing links, stars, and forks automatically to the new setup.

  • Recommendation for Action: While redirects function, consider updating your local Git remotes to reference: https://github.com/Comfy-Org/ComfyUI.git

  • Execute this command:

    • git remote set-url origin https://github.com/Comfy-Org/ComfyUI.git

  • This step can be performed immediately as the repository mirror is now properly aligned.

  • Project Stability: We're shifting structures to manage this initiative more efficiently as it continues to evolve.

Why is this adjustment happening?

As ComfyUI transitions from a personal project to a central component in the generative AI domain, we're dedicated to reinforcing its foundational support system. Establishing it under Comfy Org empowers us to:

  • Facilitate Teamwork: An organizational framework improves permission handling for our expanding core group and community participants, enabling easier issue transfers.

  • Strengthen Security: This design provides superior security instruments, detailed access policies, and project oversight features to maintain health and safety.

  • Enhance Tool Integration: Simplifies incorporating automation, continuous deployment, and AI-driven tools to refine testing, releases, and contribution assessments gradually.

Will this simplify becoming a ComfyUI contributor?

To some extent, yes. Historically, code reviews depended largely on one individual (comfyanonymous). Although this group remains small as we onboard more personnel, we aim to integrate broader community feedback and ultimately implement a sustainable open governance model for project oversight.

Our commitment to open source is unchanged; this shift will accelerate more collaboration, quicker iterations, and optimized PR and review procedures as the project grows.

Appreciation for your involvement in this progression.

Best regards,
Team Comfy
