We're excited to announce a significant update to our platform: Node 2.0. This transformation shifts our node framework from LiteGraph.js Canvas to Vue.js, enabling quicker development cycles and more dynamic user experiences.

Recent days have seen extensive conversations about Nodes 2.0. We value all contributions and examine every piece of input, including critiques, technical reports, and creative content. Our goal is to offer deeper insight into the motivations for this transition, our fundamental beliefs, and current improvement priorities.

Why Nodes 2.0? More Power, Not Less

While Canvas2D and Litegraph have been instrumental in our progress, they now present significant constraints. These limitations affect interface capabilities, custom node interoperability, control exposure in sophisticated models, and future workflow designs.

Node 2.0, along with the forthcoming Linear Mode, establishes the groundwork for subsequent advancements, facilitating:

  • Accelerated feature rollout

  • Modular nodes and adaptable widgets

  • Enhanced components and user interaction methods

What We're Addressing Currently

We're diligently working on enhancements while maintaining transparency about Node 2.0's evolution.

  1. The original canvas remains available
Should you encounter issues with Nodes 2.0, reverting via settings remains an option. We have no plans to eliminate the previous system, ensuring a voluntary transition.

  2. Third-party node compatibility is paramount
The platform's vitality stems from community contributions. We extend gratitude to rgthree's creator and all custom node developers, who form our community's core.
We're collaborating directly with developers to ensure seamless migration of their nodes and preserve existing functionalities.

  3. Refining remaining imperfections
Based on your observations, we're focusing on:

  • Reinstating Stop/Cancel and Clear Queue functions (completed)

  • Correcting Seed management

  • Reintroducing Search within dropdown menus

  • Enhancing speed and efficiency

  • Additional minor yet impactful user experience refinements
These updates will be deployed promptly.

Activation and Reversion Process

  1. Access cloud.comfy.org or install the nightly build (Desktop version forthcoming)

  2. Select 'Try it out' from the top banner upon launching the application

  3. To revert, click the platform logo to access the menu and deactivate the 'Nodes 2.0' option
